Macy Hanson is the owner of The Law Office of Macy D. Hanson, PLLC, a boutique business law firm located in Madison, Mississippi. His practice focuses on complex, high-stakes litigation - including the litigation of large class action lawsuits - as well as the handling of sophisticated business transactions for corporate clients.
Macy has successfully represented clients on over $60 million of tax-credit and bond-financed real estate transactions, along with recovering (and collecting) millions of dollars for his clients through both traditional and class action lawsuits since the forming The Law Office of Macy D. Hanson, PLLC, in 2013. Further, Macy specializes in the areas of real estate/construction litigation, real estate transactions, business disputes, and litigation involving claims of professional negligence (especially malpractice by attorneys, financial professionals, and architects), lender liability, or fraud. Additionally, Macy acts as general counsel to a Madison, Mississippi, based real estate development firm that specializes in the development of public-housing-projects syndicated under Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Law Office of Macy D. Hanson, PLLC, also represents clients in bad faith cases brought against insurance companies and employment disputes (wage and hour violations, non-compete agreements, non-disclosure agreements). The firm also represents investors who have suffered financial damages due to securities fraud or other violations of the Securities Acts of 1933 and 1934, and related securities legislation and regulations.
Macy received undergraduate degrees, magna cum laude, in Philosophy and Political Science (along with a certificate in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) from the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, in 2007. Macy received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) School of Law, in 2012. Prior to forming The Law Office of Macy D. Hanson, PLLC, Macy worked as an associate attorney with a large Mississippi law firm dedicated to the defending insurance companies and businesses in venues across the state of Mississippi.
